I look back on my life
Some joy
Mostly sadness
I have suffered many losses
Incurred much pain
Many lessons have been learned
My heart broken many times
I have known little love
I have felt no peace
Boundaries never formed
A life not lived
Happinesseluded me
My dreams could not exist
I have no regrets
I lay no blame
I am who I am
Choices I made
Were made to survive
The clouds filled the skies
The sun has rarely shone
Now I search
For that ray of sunshine
For the hopes and promises
That will fulfill my lifetime
