My name is Janet and I am a survivor. My journey has been long and tiring and continues today. The clouds of the past have lifted. The memories have dispersed. The pain has subsided. Healing has truly begun. I found true happiness by opening my heart and forgiving, not just those who abused me but also and most importantly, I forgave me. I welcome your comments and suggestions as well as submissions. Perhaps you have a poem or a story you would like to share. I will always give credit to the writer. I want to extend a special thank you to my friend, Pam, who stuck with me through thick and thin. We were two souls searching for the truth, not knowing what answers we would find. We drew strength and wisdom from each other. I am forever grateful for all her support and encouragement. How would I ever have survived without you! You taught me to believe in myself. You showed me I was more than I saw. You showed me that I was beautiful, that I was kind, that I was "special". You will forever hold a special place in my heart.
